What is the difference between a certificate and an enrichment student?

Certificate and Credit students are responsible to turn in a weekly take-home quiz based on their reading in the text—approximately 30 pages weekly.  Every few weeks they also turn in a personal feedback sheet which we refer to as a journal sheet.  This page allows for personal integration of reading, the speakers, experiences, etc. in a way that the coordinator can interact with the students to try to be an encourager and a resource. [These items, including the reading, can take an average of 4-5 hours a week to complete.  These students will also do a project (4 - 6 pages, longer for credit students)]  There will be two take-home tests (mid-term and final) which are  largely multiple-choice based on the reading and weekly assignments.
Enrichment students are committed to doing as much of the weekly reading as they can, but have no assignments required of them.

What if I have to miss a class?

Certificate/Credit students are restricted to two unexcused absences.  However, if you need to miss additional classes, it may be possible.  Please see class coordinator regarding your situation. Audio tapes of the lecture will be available for purchase for those who miss a class.

Can I receive college credit?

The Perspectives course is a credit-bearing course.  If you would like to receive credit, talk to the registrar at your school about the transferability of the credits which will be issued by Trinity International University. Course syllabus is available with pertinent information to assist you in this process. See Contact Us page to request syllabus, if needed, before start of class.

What does a typical evening in class look like?

The evening begins with some type of devotional or worship experience to prepare our hearts and minds for what God will have for us. We will review some key aspects from the previous week, often through small group interactions. Our guest instructor will present their material for approximately 50 minutes, followed by a 15 minute break. The instructor will continue with another 50 minute presentation and the class coordinator will conclude the evening.
Our goal is to always begin and end on schedule: 6:15 PM
 - 9:15 PM

Is Perspectives only for people who are interested in "Full-Time Overseas Missions" work?

No. Perspectives is a relevant course for the whole church, designed to equip the Body of Christ for effectively answering God's call, whether it be as a missionary, a mobilizer, or a sender/supporter.

Is There A Class Limit?

Yes.  We have a 100 student limit and therefore encourage you to pre-register to be assured of a place.
